BEAVER, Pa. - Mary Ann Marczak, 86, formerly of Ironwood, Mich., died on April 14, 2018, comforted by her loving family. The last four years were spent living with her daughter and son-in-law, with three grandchildren and great-grandchildren close by.
Mary was born on June 9, 1931, in Ironwood (Jessieville), Mich., daughter of John and Anna Perkovich. She graduated from Luther L. Wright High School and then worked as a secretary at Newport School.
On May 20, 1950, she married Stanley S. Marczak, of Bessemer, Mich. They were happily married for 62 years and had three children.
She was an accomplished seamstress and knitter. She loved knitting sweaters, jackets, mittens, slippers and scarves for family members. Cooking was also a passion of hers. When health prevented her from no longer doing these things, she looked forward to visits and phone calls from family and friends and enjoyed playing board games and cards.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; and brothers Matthew (K.O.), John and Joseph.
She is survived by her cherished family, Stanley (Darlene) Marczak, of Grantsburg, Wis .; Rose (John) Onuska, of Beaver; and Thomas Marczak, of Sobieski, Wis. She has eight grandchildren, Stanley (Katie) Marczak, John (Kelly) Marczak, Rebekah (Steve) Fischer, Heather (Jack) Peffer, Sarah (Jason) Chimile, John (Elizabeth) Onuska, Shaun (Kristie) Marczak and Alyse Marczak. She also has 15 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, April 25, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, preceded by visitation in the St. Joseph Family Room at 10 a.m.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Noll's Funeral Home in Beaver and McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Home in Ironwood.
If desired, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Regional Hospice (1913 Beaser Ave., Ashland, Wis.) for the compassionate care they provided to her husband during his illness; or a Mass stipend. Any monetary donations will be used for Mass intentions.
