The Ahmed Shrine Circus elephants Vicky, left, Cindy and Janice (hidden) eat a snack of some locally grown hay in the cool sunshine Thursday afternoon outside the Pat O'Donnell Civic Center in Ironwood. The circus was in town for two shows Thursday and are spending the week in the Upper Peninsula. A handler said the Asian elephants are in the 40s and each weighs about 8,000 pounds. The circus was most recently in Iowa and Illinois, and after the U.P., will head to upstate New York.
