IRONWOOD, Mich. - Margaret Penska, 89, of Ironwood, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Ironwood.
She was born Dec. 24, 1928, in Ironwood, daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (O'Blasney) Penska. Margaret was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood.
Margaret was a lifelong resident of Ironwood and worked many years for Hansen Glove Factory and retired from Munsingwear. She devoted over 30 years as the primary caregiver to her sister, Katy. Margaret was a second Mom to many of her nieces and nephews. She was a very caring, selfless person always thinking of others before herself. She was a very independent and strong-willed woman tackling any task without question. She was also a very gentle person who will be greatly missed by her family.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Raymond and James Penkas, Joseph, Edward and Rudolph Penska; and four sisters, Bertha Rowe, Rose Ruby, Katy Penska and Carol Pesola.
In accordance with Margaret's wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held.
Private inurnment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood.
Arrangements are with McKevitt-Patrick Funeral Services of Ironwood.
