NORMAL, Ill. - William 'Willi' Wallace Armstrong II, 63, formerly of Normal, died on Friday, March 16, 2018, following a massive heart attack.
His funeral service was held on Wednesday, March 21, in Bloomington.
Per his wishes, Willi will be laid to rest at the Mercer Cemetery in Mercer, Wis., on Saturday, May 26. A small grave-site service will be held at 11a.m., with Pastor Paul Devantier presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Veterans Memorial Park of Mercer, 4969 N. U.S. 51 Mercer, WI 54547.
Willi carried a special place in his heart for Mercer, where his father bought acreage on the Oxbow River when Willi was 6 years old. He graduated from Mercer High School in 1973, before returning to Bloomington. However, in Willi's heart, Mercer was his true home. Willi touched many lives. His witty humor and love for others will be missed by all who knew him.
