RHINELANDER, Wis. — Julia M. Piasecki, age 93, longtime Ironwood, Mich., resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in Rhinelander. She was born Feb. 25, 1924, in Hurley, daughter of the late Silvio and Adelide (Delboni) Calgaro.
Julia attended Hurley schools, graduating from the Hurley High School. She was united in marriage with Frank Piasecki. For many years, she and Frank owned and operated Frank’s Food Store in Norrie Location. Frank preceded her in death.
Julia was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. She is survived by one son, Robert (Ellen Rustad) Piasecki, of Rhinelander; one granddaughter, Jennifer (Darren) Piasecki-Dums, of South Range; one sister, Theresa Foryan, of Hurley, and numerous nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents and husband, Julia was preceded in death by one grandson, Tim Piasecki; five brothers, Fred, Serafino, William, Romeo and Julio; and one sister, Corrine Bensoni.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood. Father Robb Jurkovich will be the celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Inurnment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
