Audrey A. (Asunto) Gayan

RICE LAKE, Wis. - Audrey A. (Asunto) Gayan, 69, of Rice Lake, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 2, at Woodstone Senior Living Community, Rice Lake, after experiencing health issues for many years and a recent stay at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, Minn.

She was born on June 26, 1948, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Niemi) Asunto and attended Roosevelt School in Ironwood Township, through the ninth grade. She continued her education and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in 1966. After high school, she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, bowling, fashion and travel. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Sebastian, at the Chinese buffet and shopping.

Surviving are three sons, Todd Czerneski (Annette), Junction City, Scott Czerneski (Kristin), Hurley, Kirk Liljestrom (Becky Busch), Spooner; one daughter, Holly Rasmussen, Waunakee; three brothers, Rodney "Louie" (Jeanne), Franksville, Thomas (Yvonne Anderson), Ironwood, John (Jean Bock), Hurley; one sister, Shirley (Eugene) DaRonco, Pewaukee; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles, on Dec. 10, 2009; mother on March 9, 1991; brother, Tony, May 2, 2018; sister-in-law, Debbie, June 9, 2005; and one grandchild at birth.

In accordance with Audrey's wishes, cremation has taken place. Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake is in charge of the arrangements and no funeral or burial will take place. Per Audrey's wishes, her ashes will be inurned with her daughter, Holly, in Waunakee.
