OSHKOSH, Wis. - Elwys Arnold "Jack" Knight, 85, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Ruth (Barden) Knight, his loving wife, Chestine (Buczek), his brother, Gary Knight, and his son, Kelly Ryan.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, where he was stationed in Alaska. Elwys worked as a pipefitter in Wisconsin, Florida and Michigan.
Chestine and Jack won the Michigan Lottery, so they moved from Wisconsin to Michigan, where they bought a farm in Trout Creek, Mich. He then volunteered all his free time while in the Knights of Columbus. He held many offices during his time in the Knights.
He will be remembered for his storytelling, service to his country and his time in the Knights of Columbus.
Elwys is survived by his nephews: Scott (Vicky) Reiter and Jeff Vijaya; and special friend, Judy.
A remembrance service will be held on June 23, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Bella Vista, 631 Hazel St., Oshkosh.
