Don Johnson, Jr.

FOX CROSSING, Wis. - Don Johnson Jr., 91, of Fox Crossing, formerly of Bruce Crossing, Mich., passed away peacefully on March 21, 2018 at home with his family by his side after a brief illness.

Don was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Bergland Township, Mich. to the late Don Sr. and Lorena (Lowe) Johnson. Don graduated from Ewen High School with the class of 1944. Don joined the Navy and served his country during World War II. After discharge from the Navy, Don returned home to work with his father at Johnson Well Drilling, which he later purchased after working at the White Pine Copper Company. Don married Jane Neuman on April 28, 1954 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Bruce Crossing. Don and Jane resided in Bruce Crossing until they moved to the Appleton area six years ago to be near family.

Don is survived by children, Alan (Wanda) Johnson of Spanaway, Washington and David (Julie) Johnson of Fox Crossing; grandsons, David (Megan) and Erik (Nikki); great-granddaughters, Molly and Mya; sister, Ruth Niemi; sister-in-law, June Neuman; brother-in-law, Joe Moskwa who passed away May 19, 2018; also by many loving nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Jane on Jan. 27, 2018, sisters Betty Moskwa and Roberta Daniels, and brothers-in-law, Edward Daniels, Albert Niemi and Merle Neuman.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held for Don and his wife Jane at Maple Grove Cemetery in Haight Township on June 30, at 1 p.m. with military rites conducted for Don. A luncheon will immediately follow at Twilly's Bar and Grill in Bruce Crossing.
