4th of July 50-50 raffles abound across region

More than $150,000 was wagered on 50-50 raffles over the Fourth of July holiday regionally.

Michael Tregembo of Ironwood won the Bessemer 50-50 and claimed his prize Thursday. His ticket 66187 won $34,681.

Wakefield's 50-50 prize is an even $24,200 and as yet unclaimed. The winning ticket is 41346.

Hurley's Fireworks Committee held its drawing Thursday morning, drawing ticket 2703. The Bank Club won the prize of $4,808.

Bessemer Township's 50-50 prize of $7,750 was claimed by Lori Stella, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn., a former area resident. The winning ticket was 13686. According to 50-50 chairperson Lisa Selin, Karin Cebolski never missed a day at the Bessemer Township tent from June 9 to July 1. She sold 5,600 of the 15,500 tickets that went out.

The Marenisco 50-50 prize of $3,000 is due to the person with ticket 3010.

In Mercer, Jeff Minton, of Mercer, won the 50-50 prize of $575 with ticket 1069.

Bruce Crossing is still looking for the winner of its 50-50. The green ticket 889172 is worth $631.

In Watersmeet, the prize from Saturday's 50-50 was $135.

In total, $75,780 in prizes will be given away.
