PARK FALLS, Wis. - Sharon Lee (Nyman) Schmidt, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Park Manor Nursing Home in Park Falls.
Sharon was born on April 19, 1943, in Muskegon, Michigan, and lived her early life in Bessemer, Mich., where she graduated from A.D. Johnston High School.
Sharon was united in marriage with her husband, Richard, on Oct. 21, 1972, where they resided in Winchester, beginning their family before moving to Mercer.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Richard, of 45 years; her brothers, Bruce, Curtis and Alan; her daughter, Wendy; her sons, Mathias, James and Joseph, as well as her aunts, Gladys (DeRosie) and Donna (Olson) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in passing by her parents, Hilmer Karl Nyman and Vivian Olga Hendrickson, as well as her sister, Sandra Jean (Hockert.)
Sharon was an exceptional wife and mother by supporting her husband and her four children who were/are either firefighters or EMT/EMR in the area throughout her life. Sharon also thoroughly enjoyed the company of her second family of nurses at Park Manor Nursing Home.
Visitation for Sharon will be on Monday, Aug. 27, 2018, from 3-8 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 2701 W. Kichak's Landing Road in Mercer, and will continue on Tuesday morning, Aug. 28, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services for Sharon will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Paul Devantier officiating.
Burial will be in the Mercer Cemetery.
There will be a luncheon at the church following the cemetery services.
