WATFORD CITY, N.D. – Kasey Gene Ozzello, 31, of Watford City, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018.
Kasey was born on Sept. 11, 1987, at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, Wis., a son of Woodie Ozzello and Sheila (Kahila) Ozzello, of Wakefield, Mich. He graduated from Wakefield-Marenisco High School in 2006, and shortly after Kasey joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving two tours in Iraq. He was honorably discharged in 2010.
Kasey returned home to be with his family and later moved to North Dakota for work. There he met the love of his life, Jennifer Avalos. Together they worked hard and made plans to return to the Wakefield area and start a family.
Kasey loved his family and Trenten, his nephew, was very special to him.
Kasey is survived by his mother, Sheila Kahila (Roger Negri); his sister, Lakin Ozzello (Michael Singleton); his brother, Michael Ozzello; his nephew, Trenten Singleton; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Anna Jane (Warrick) Ozzello; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father, Woodie, on April 30, 2018; his maternal grandparents, Oliver and Genevieve (Morrison) Kahila; and his uncle and aunt, Darrell and Doreen Kahila.
Kasey will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
A memorial service with full military rites will be held Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m., at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. The Rev. Michael Riley, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Wakefield, will officiate.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will follow at the Wakefield American Legion Geroux Post 11, 605 River St.
