EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Phyllis R. Mrofchak passed away peacefully on Oct. 28, 2017, with her family by her side, at the Castle Ridge Nursing home in Eden Prairie.
Phyllis was born on July 8, 1932, to the late Thomas and Leocadia Zalewski, both deceased.
On Aug. 6, 1955, she was united in marriage with Joseph Mrofchak and was able to celebrate 60 years of marriage before his death in 2015.
Before raising a family, Phyllis worked at the Ironwood Creamery and a local bank. In later years she shared ownership of the family business, which was known as Mrofchak's Men's/Women's Shop.
Phyllis had many passions. Her greatest was her love of baking, and sharing recipes with family and friends. She also enjoyed, knitting, playing the piano, reading and dancing the polka.
Phyllis is survived by three daughters: Diane Buschalla, Traverse City, Mich., Catherine (Eric) Thompson, Minn., and Janet (Diego) Martinez, Chaska, Minn .; and eight beloved grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A joyful celebration of life was held on Aug. 30, 2018, at the Pax Christie Catholic Church in Eden Prairie, with burial following at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery next to her loving husband, Joe.
