Copperwood Project

Melanie Humphrey, a geologist with the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, explains the basics of Highland Copper's plan to develop a copper mine in northern Gogebic County at an informational session prior to a public hearing at Gogebic Community College Wednesday. The hearing was required as part of the decision-making process regarding permits the company is seeking to develop the mine. The proposed mine will be located in northern Ironwood and Wakefield townships.
