Mary Juno

WAKEFIELD, Mich. - Mary Juno, 97, a lifetime resident of Ironwood, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Nov. 19, 2018.

Mary was born on Sept. 23, 1921, in Ironwood to John and Catherine (Santacatterina) Bonato. She attended St. Ambrose School and Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.

On May 10, 1947, she was married to Alex Juno by Msgr. Moriarity at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Ironwood.

Mary worked at the church and school, McLellan's Store and Vertin's Department Store. Mary was a member of the Neighbors Gogebic Extension Club. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and scrabble.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Kay (Dale) Carlson; sons, Joseph (Pat) Juno, James (Kim) Juno; six grandchildren, Jamie Juno, Angela Carlson, Pamela (John) Van Cleave, Kristina (Brandon) Nutsch, Jason Juno, David (Hannah) Juno; six great-grandchildren, Sophie, Edie and Ezra Van Cleave and Tyler, Alex and Grayson Nutsch; sister-in-law, Irene Bonato, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Alex, in 1998; family members, Elvera and John Kostac, Erma and Mike Maurin, Lena and George Semenak, Tony Bonato, Frank Juno, Joe and Ellen Juno, George and Vi Juno, Ed and Hiro Juno, Sophie Juno, Margaret Juno, Helen and John Oberto and nephew, John Kostac.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Father Dominic Agyapong as celebrant.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, in the spring.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Gogebic Medical Care Facility for the care and comfort they provided for Mary's time there.
