Hurley — The Hurley School Board will consider the bid process for the planned technology education expansion project at Monday’s regular monthly meeting.
The school board originally discussed a 4,300-square-foot addition to the technology (wood and metal shops) area at the K-12 school that would cost around $1.1 million and a wellness center costing around $1 million.
When the planning process began, district administrator Chris Patritto said the school district had a $3.9 million fund balance, so a special referendum to fund the project would not be required.
Construction in 2019 is possible.
The wellness center would include a weight room, conference room and bathrooms. It would be open to use by the community.
In other business Monday, the school board will hear a presentation from food service supervisor Dawn Rye and consider several staff appointments, including hiring a girls varsity volleyball coach.
Teacher substitutes and volunteers will also be brought before the school board for action.
Staffing for the 2019-’20 school year is also on Monday’s agenda.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. in the high school library.
