Rochelle 'Shelley' (Vittone) Gustafson

KIMBALL, Wis. - Rochelle "Shelley" (Vittone) Gustafson, 60, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 12, 2018. Shelley was the daughter of Richard and Arlene (Puisto) Vittone, born Aug. 2, 1958.

She graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer in 1976 and earned her LPN degree from Gogebic Community College. Shelley was active in the community, serving as the Town of Kimball Clerk, serving on the election board, and participated in several other community organizations. Most recently she was volunteering at the Aspirus Hospital Gift Shop.

On June 14, 1980, Shelley married Jack Gustafson, sharing life together on the Gustafson farm where they raised two wonderful sons, Nick and Grant. They were her pride and joy. After 35 years together, Shelley lost her Jack on Feb. 4, 2015.

She was a passionate person, and it showed in her laughter and soft heart. Shelley loved music, the summer sunshine, and flowers. She made beautiful floral arrangements, and loved to draw and make paintings. She displayed her talents in "Shelley's Country Cabin" on her farm, where she was open in the summer months. More than anything, she loved spending time with family.

Shelley leaves behind her two sons: Nick Gustafson, Roseau, Minn., and Grant (Lauren) Gustafson, Saxon; her parents: Richard and Arlene (Puisto) Vittone, Bessemer, Mich .; her sisters: Peri (Mark) Rund, Wasilla, Alaska, Melanie (Scott) Hitz, Hatley, and her brother, Griffin (Amber) Vittone, Orlando, Fla .; nieces Tricia, Lindsay, Sienna; nephew Mason; great nephews: Antonio and Gianni; also several other in-laws, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and grandparents, James (Ester) Vittone, Axle (Helvi) Puisto.

Shelley's contagious laughter and love-filled energy could light up an entire city. She was the "light of our lives" and our world is much dimmer without her.

We would like to thank Regional Hospice Services for the wonderful and compassionate care of our beloved Shelley during her final time with us.

Cremation will take place. A celebration of life will take place this summer, as summer was Shelley's favorite time of year. Further details will be posted once confirmed at mckevittpatrickfuneralhome.com.
