TYLER, Texas - Gayle Perkins, 81, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Dec. 24, 2018, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler.
Gayle was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on March 26, 1937, to Andrew Bascom Strange and Lucy Estelle Ryals. She was a faithful and active member of Memorial Christian Church and Dogwood Hills Baptist Church during her years in Palestine. Her love of Christ was evident to all who knew her. She was a joyful, loving and generous person, and every- one she met was a friend.
Gayle was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Bascom Strange; mother, Lucy Foraker; daughter, Sandra Annette Schiller; husband, Kenneth Perkins; and son, Andrew Perkins.
She is survived by her partner, Gerry Juntunen; son, Tommy Perkins; daughter, Rebekah Stanley and husband George Stanley; and sisters, Sandra Deleo and husband, Al Deleo, and Mary Howard and husband, Benny Howard. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family who she loved very much.
Graveside services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at the Chapel of the Air at Land of Memory Cemetery with Pastor Doug Washburn officiating.
