PLEASANT PRAIRIE, Wis. - Donald J. Hibbeln, 78, of Trevor, passed away peacefully Jan. 1, 2019 at Hospice Alliance Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie. He was born Feb. 19, 1940 in Ontonagon, Mich., the son of the late John C. and Hilma E. (Walitalo) Hibbeln. On July 13, 1968, Donald married Jennifer C. Beller in Waukesha. Donald was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Wilmot and a member of the Silver Lake Sportsmen's Club. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, splitting firewood, playing cards, and weaving. He was also a lifelong jokester.
Donald is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Jennifer; their children, Brian (Tim) of Washington D.C., Anthony (Cheryl) of Antioch, Ill., Heather (Scott) Bowmil of New Berlin and Holly (Robert) Zubor of Center Lake; their five grandchildren, Kristy Torrez, Kyle Hibbeln, Kaylee Hibbeln, Penny Zubor, and Lilly Zubor; his godson, Bernard Hibbeln; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond, Walter, Bernard and his stillborn twin; and his aunt, Hulda Walitalo Kujala Peterson.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4 at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. Antioch, Ill., and additional visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the start of Mass Saturday morning at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 30100 Wilmot Road, Wilmot, Wis.
