More arrests made in Wisconsin

Bessemer — Two suspects in a Marenisco home invasion were recently arraigned in Gogebic County District Court, while two more arrests have been made in Wisconsin in connection to the case.
Todd Matthew Norton, 47, and Amber Jo Dorschner, 41, of New London, Wis., were extradited on multiple felony charges after being arrested in east central Wisconsin earlier this month.
Norton was arraigned Jan. 18 and is charged with armed robbery, first-degree home invasion, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, possession of a weapon while committing a felony and being a felon in possession of a weapon.
The most serious charge, armed robbery, carries a potential life sentence.
Dorschner was arraigned Jan. 16 and is charged with receiving and concealing stolen property valued between $1,000 and $20,000 and conspiracy to commit receiving and concealing stolen property.
Both charges carry a potential maximum sentence of five years in prison.
Both defendants were arrested Jan. 9 in Waupaca County’s New London. They’re lodged in the Gogebic County Jail, with Norton’s bond set at $500,000 at 10 percent and Dorschner’s bond set at $100,000 at 10 percent — meaning 10 percent of the bond must be posted to secure their release.
Two other defendants in the case were arrested this week, according to Prosecutor Nick Jacobs, and have been arraigned on Gogebic charges in Waupaca County as they aren’t waiving their extradition.
Brandon Scott Luter, 31, of New London is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery and receiving and concealing stolen property. The conspiracy charge also carries a potential life sentence.
Heather M. Worm, 36, of New London, is charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree home invasion and receiving and concealing stolen property. The conspiracy charge carries a potential maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
As neither have waived extradition, Jacobs said he is in the process of obtaining a “Governor’s Warrant” to order their return to face trial. He said the process could take anywhere from 30 to 60 days.
All four defendants are charged in connection to the December armed robbery home invasion in Marenisco Township.
The owner of the East Shore road residence in the Lake Gogebic area was assaulted and tied up during the early morning hours of Dec. 18 in the home invasion where money and guns were stolen.
Court documents reference silver and gold bars and coins in the various charges the defendants face.
The property owner was able to free himself and alert police, leading to an unsuccessful search of the area and the execution of a search warrant in the city of Ironwood.
Gogebic County Sheriff Pete Matonich said in December the suspects had been believed to have fled the state.
Jacobs said Thursday the investigation is continuing and there may be additional arrests.
