CEDARTOWN, Ga. - Melinda S. Sanchez-Torres, 37, of Cedartown, formerly of Wakefield, Mich., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019.
Melinda was born on Oct. 6, 1981, in Ironwood, Mich., a daughter of Dennis "Gabby" and Marianne (Holmes) Brunelle. She attended Wakefield High School and graduated in 1999. She then moved to Georgia in 2001.
On Dec. 6, 2003, Melinda married Luis Sanchez-Torres.
She was employed as a customer service representative at AT&T.
Melinda always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she met. She was a die hard Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Vikings fan. Her four dear children were her world.
She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Melinda is survived by her husband, Luis, and their four beautiful children, Nathan, Antonia, Zuri and Luis, all of Cedartown; her mother, Marianne, of Wakefield; two brothers, Ray (Sarah), of North Dakota, and Robert (KaDee), Foxboro, Wis .; a sister, Elizabeth (Clayton), Ironwood; a nephew, Nicholas; two nieces, Mackenzie and Gabby; and a great-niece, Emeryson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dennis, on March 15, 2011; and her grandparents, Ray and Laura Holmes and Robert and Mary Brunelle.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10 a.m., at All Saints Lutheran Church, 1202 Putnam St., in Wakefield, with the Rev. Bill Jacobson officiating.
A luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall following the service.
