IRONWOOD - The Pat O'Donnell Civic Center's roof sustained damage earlier this week.
Scott Erickson, Ironwood's city manager, said excessive snow load on the civic center's roof caused a few of the building's steel trusses to buckle.
"We are having our insurance company take a look and they are analyzing the roof system to see how much damage was done," he said.
The center's last day for skating was Sunday, and the damage was discovered on Monday or Tuesday, he added.
"We engaged our whole safety department to come out and help with the ladder truck and we used water to get the snow off," Erickson said.
The civic center will remain closed until further notice.
