IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP, Mich. - Jodie Lyn (Rye) Johnson, 56, of Ironwood, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2019, at her home in Ironwood.
Jodie was born in Ironwood to Albert and Mary Ann (Conhartoski) Rye on Jan. 11, 1963. She graduated Ironwood Catholic High School in 1981. She married Kevin Johnson on Oct. 21, 1995, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hurley, Wis. She graduated from Gogebic Community College with a Bachelor of Science in nursing and worked as an RN in the Appleton and Oshkosh area before returning to Ironwood. Most recently she worked at Regional Hospice and the Aspirus Ironwood Clinic.
Jodie is preceded in death by her grandparents, Roman and Theresa Conhartoski, and Fred and Lucile Rye; and her mother, Mary Ann (Conhartoski) Rye.
Jodie is survived by her husband, Kevin; her son, Ethan; her brothers, Daniel (Jennifer) Rye and Darin (Kelly) Rye; her father, Albert Rye; and her nieces and nephews, Dana, Betsy, Christopher J., Stephanie, Christopher R., Allyson, Rachel and Hanna.
Jodie was incredibly loved by everyone who knew her, and she will be remembered as an active community member, always supporting the cause at hand, and helping those in need.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 24, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.
