STEVENS POINT, Wis. - Adelinde "Linda" Schlicher passed away peacefully on May 26 at Ascension St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.
She was born Feb. 26, 1944 in Unterhaching, Germany to George and Johanna Dienstbeck Hall. In 1953 her family immigrated to Hustisford, where she completed her high school education.
She worked for GTE as a telephone operator in Hustisford and later in Beaver Dam. Linda began her floral career at Reier's Beaver Floral in Beaver Dam, where she met her husband, Jim.
On Nov. 28, 1968, she married James "Jim" Schlicher. They purchased Lutey's Flower Shop in Ironwood, Mich., in December of that year, which she operated until her retirement in 2017. Linda was very active in her community sharing her talent with various organizations, including the Gogebic Council for the Arts, Ironwood Theatre, and Hope Animal Shelter. She also attended classes at Gogebic Community College.
Linda is survived by 2 sons, Scott (Lora) of Ironwood and Chris (Erik) of Eau Claire, as well as a sister, Eva Heim, and brother, George Hall, Jr. (Joy). She is further survived by a cousin, Charlotte (Gordon) of Weston, nephews and various relatives in Wisconsin, Texas, and Germany.
Adelinde was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Jim.
The family extends their most heartfelt thanks to Linda's friend, JoAnn Fleming, and neighbors, Dan and Bobbie Kangas, for the care and attention to a multitude of issues during Linda's illness and exemplifying the true meaning of friendship.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Manny's Restaurant in Ironwood. Interment will be in Rienzi Cemetery in Fond du Lac.
