MARINESCO, Mich. - Richard L. "Dick" Johnson, 73, of Marenisco, formerly of Albany, Ill, died Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, Wis.
Dick was born October 28, 1945, in Morrison, Ill., to Richard L. and Betty F. (Glass) Johnson. He was a graduate of Tampico High School in Tampico, Ill. Dick married Sandra K. Olinger on May 22, 1965, in Prophetstown, Ill. He was employed by 3M of Cordova, Ill, retiring in 2009. Dick was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie #705 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #363 both in Clinton, Iowa. He also had served as a Boy Scout Leader in Albany.
Dick was a member of MI – Trale ATV, Multi-Use and Horse Trails in the Western U.P. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and boating.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra; his mother, Betty Johnson of Prophetstown, Ill .; one daughter, Lee (William) Todtz of Cortland, Ill .; one son, Rick (Lisa) Johnson of Albany, Ill .; three grandchildren, Brittany (Lucas) Wakefield, William "Will" .Todtz and Dane Johnson; and two brothers, Doug (Mere) Johnson and Tom Johnson both of Prophetstown, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bill & Nan's Old Dutch's 337 Fair Avenue in Marenisco. Food will be provided. A memorial to MI–Trale has been established.
