MONTREAL, Wis. - Janice M. Berglund, 77, a lifelong resident of Montreal, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, July 21, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.
Janice was born on Dec. 9, 1941, in Montreal, a daughter of Joseph and Florence (Garreau) Trombi. She attended Montreal Grade School and J.E. Murphy High School in Hurley.
On April 15, 1961, Janice married the love of her life Clyde W. "Bergie" Berglund at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montreal. They moved to Milwaukee for a few years then returned to Montreal in 1966.
Janice was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ironwood.
Over the years, she worked in food service at various locations.
Janice is survived by a son, Wayne (Dawn), Montreal; three daughters, Barbara (Jeff Wesenberg), Ironwood Township, Mich., Cheryl (Rick Daniels), Stevens Point, and Kristine, Wausau; six cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Rebecca, Lucas, Ronald, Bryan and Sara; nine dear great-grandchildren, Claire, Sophie, Jonathan, Kendyl, Kole, Jace, Kolton, Taylyn and Kashtin; a sister, Diane "Bunny" Maffesanti, Ironwood; a brother, Bobby Trombi, Montreal; her personal companion, "Big Hank," Pence; and numerous special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clyde, on April 9, 2008; a brother, Richard; and six sisters, Nancy, Polly, Donna, twin sister, Judy, Debbie and Carole.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, at 3 p.m., preceded by visitation at 2 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 111 S. Curry St., Ironwood, with the Reverend Paul Heykes officiating.
Refreshments will be served at the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
A committal service and interment will take place at Hurley Cemetery at a later date.
