DE PERE, Wis. - Mary A. Borseth, a long time resident of Bessemer and Bergland, passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2019, in De Pere. Mary passed away with her family by her side after a long, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mary was born in Bergland, Mich., in Nov. 18, 1925 to Marko and Yaga Lulich and graduated from Bergland High School in 1943. She served her country as an original "Rosie the Riveter" working in Detroit, Mich. in 1944. She was married to Wayne Borseth in 1947 and recently celebrated 73 years of marriage on January 25, 2019. Mary was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bessemer and Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland.
Mary worked tirelessly everyday at her family home mowing the lawn, raking the beach, hauling rocks, shoveling snow, and tending to her garden. She enjoyed walking daily for exercise, going to bible study, working crossword puzzles, and listening to music. Her many talents were crocheting and canning vegetables from her garden. She was an avid sports fan, following her children and grandchildren's sporting events and was the number one fan of her son Kevin's women's basketball teams. Mary dedicated her life to her family and took pride in caring and loving her husband Wayne, children and grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Wayne; her four children, Joy (Bob) Young, of Croswell, Mich., Mark (Lisa) Borseth, of Mosinee, Kevin (Connie) Borseth, of De Pere and Becky Borseth, of Sarasota, Fla .; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grand children; 2 grand dogs; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary is also survived by her two brothers, Marko(Maddie) Lulich and Billy(Coco) Toomey; and two sisters, Bette(Ray) Rigoni and Barb(Brian) Cook. She was proceeded in death by her parents and by her brother, John Lulich.
