MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Tony Evers announced Friday he is looking for applicants interested in filling Patrick Madden’s seat as Iron County Circuit Judge.
Madden died unexpectedly in his sleep while at his home on July 9. He served on the bench for 33 years, starting as an appointee himself after Gov. Anthony Earl appointed him in June 1986 to replace retiring judge John Varda.
Gary Carlson, of Medford, is serving as a reserve judge for the county until Evers appoints Madden’s replacement.
