ARLINGTON, Va. — Lauretta Nyman Ysais, formerly of Ironwood, Mich., daughter of Jacob W. Nyman and Ellen Ijas Nyman, and sister to Jacob Nyman Jr., passed away Aug. 18th, 2019, in Arlington.
Lauretta was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Ironwood, and she attended the Roosevelt Junior High School in Ironwood Township, and was the class of 1954 valedictorian. While attending Luther L. Wright High School, Lauretta was named to the National Honor Society in her junior year (one of only nine other juniors).
Lauretta was employed in the patent law business for her entire working career starting with Allis-Chalmers in Milwaukee, in their Patent Department, later with Kane, Dalsimer & Kane a patent law firm in New York City, after which she was employed by Nixon & Vanderhye, another patent law firm in Washington, D.C.
Lauretta is survived by her husband, Gilbert P. Ysais, of 59 years.
According to her wishes, Lauretta will be cremated, and her final resting place will be next to her parents and late brother at the Sunset Acres Cemetery in Ironwood Township.
