LEXINGTON, Ky. — Jeffrey Andrew Maki, 54, formerly of Ironwood, Mich., passed away in mid-July in Lexington.
Jeff was born in Ironwood on Sept. 21, 1964, and lived the majority of his life in Ironwood. He attended local schools and later graduated from Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Mich. with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. He lived in Milwaukee, Wis., for some time, and it was there that he met his future wife, Christine. They remained in the Milwaukee area a number of years before returning to Ironwood.
Jeff was a talented artist and particularly enjoyed drawing and painting cityscapes. A number of business establishments in Lexington display his artistic works. Additionally, Jeff played the guitar well and enjoyed playing and singing in front of others — whenever the opportunity presented itself. He especially enjoyed country music.
Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Christine, in 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Toivo (Tosh) Maki and Ruth Maki.
He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Maki, in Wisconsin; sisters, Ellie (Steve) Wood, of Savage, Minn., and Bonny (Bob) Gothblad, of Spooner, Wis .; as well as his brother, Randy, of Wilmore, Ky.
Cremation has taken place in Lexington.
