PARK FALLS, Wis. - Thelma A. Pemble, 91, of Mercer, passed away on Oct. 23, 2019, in Park Falls.
Thelma was born on June 25, 1928, in Mercer, the daughter of Mike and Narrie (Schwartz) Babic. She attended Mercer grade schools.
She worked at Simpson Electric, Mercer Boat Factory, a candle factory in Mercer and cleaned cabins in the area.
Thelma loved baking cakes, crafting, puzzles, music and fishing. Her specialty was her homemade pasties, and they were the best. She loved her dogs, Cindy and Tammy.
She married Lyle Pemble on Nov. 30, 1946. He preceded her in death.
Thelma is survived by her children, Lyle (JoAnn) Pemble, Donald (Darlene) Pemble and Roy (Cheri) Pemble; sister, Marie (Donald) Kessler; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband, Lyle; siblings, George, Mitch, Vanard, Norman, Jack, Marvin and Duke Babic, Clara Allen, Eva Fosdick, Alice Watts and Mayme Babic in infancy.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 28, at Mercer United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with Rev. Erwin Teichmiller officiating, preceded by a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. A light lunch will be held in the church basement immediately following the service.
