Brian Edward Maki

KINGSFORD, Mich. - Brian Edward Maki, 61, of Kingsford, formerly of Bergland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2019.

Brian was born on Jan. 12, 1958, in Ishpeming. He was the youngest of three sons to Raymond E. and Ruth E. (Mattson) Maki. Brian attended Bergland High School and graduated in 1977. He previously worked in hotel management.

Brian was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland and the Bergland Senior Citizens Center. He was a dedicated volunteer of the fire department in Hurley, Wis.

Brian loved going for rides in his side-by-side with his dog, Buddy. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.

Brian is survived by his father, Raymond, Kingsford; two brothers, Steven (Donna), Lima, Ohio, and Donald (Roxanne), Kingsford; five cherished nephews and nieces, Steven (Christina) Maki, Nicholas Maki, Nancy Smith, Spencer Maki and Robert (Rachel) Maki; and numerous dear great-nephews and great-nieces.

He was predeceased by his mother, Ruth, on March 11, 2003.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, Nov. 23, at 11 a.m. EST, preceded by visitation at 10 a.m. EST, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bergland, with the Rev. Timothy J. Steckling officiating.

Pallbearers will be Robert Maki, Spencer Maki, Shawn Maki, Dale Mattson, David Duncan and Chuck King.

Luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall following the service.

Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Bergland Township.
