Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties

Ironwood - Many of the Ironwood elementary students were dressed extra nice Thursday as the district put on its annual holiday concert.
The students sang a variety of cheery holiday songs, as parents and other relatives listened and took pictures and videos to preserve the occasion.
Along with the songs, vocal music instructor Darin Schmidt gave the parents some examples of what the students have been learning in class by having the kids demonstrate some of the techniques they've worked on.
After the vocal performances, the district's fifth grade band students also had the opportunity to show what they have learned from band director, Kirk McBrayer.
The concert was the first of the district's concerts this winter.
The high school and middle school bands will combine for a concert at the Historic Ironwood Theatre Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
The district's sixth grade band and choir concert will take place at 7 p.m., Dec. 17 in the second floor gym.
The district's seventh and eighth grade choir, along with the Accent! show choir, will perform at the Historic Ironwood Theatre Dec. 20, at 7 p.m.
