BESSEMER, Mich. - Dennis Eugene Kujanson, 72, a longtime resident of Bessemer, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020.
Dennis was born on Aug. 26, 1947, in Ironwood, the son of Eugene Edward and Alice Elizabeth (Brown) Kujanson. He attended Ironwood schools and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School.
Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a specialist fourth class on Oct. 3, 1969. Dennis received the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Sharpshooter (Rifle) Badge.
On Sept. 22, 1973, Dennis was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Hendrickson at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. They shared 24 years of marriage and were blessed with a son.
He was employed by D & B Freight Sales in Ironwood and Bessemer Plywood Corporation.
Dennis was an animal lover, especially dogs. Since he was an outdoorsman and deer hunter, Dennis enjoyed spending time at his camp. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
Dennis is survived by a son, Dale (fiancée, Tiffany Averitt), Ironwood; two sisters, Sandra Ahonen, Ironwood, and Patricia Nyman, Bessemer; his brother-in-law, Glen Aho, Lakeland, Minn .; other relatives; and his faithful companion, Domino.
He was predeceased by his parents; his former wife, Kathleen; a sister, Arlene "Cookie" Aho; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Ahonen and Curtis "Snuffy" Nyman.
Cremation will take place and no services will be held.
