BIG SPRING, Texas - Larry Clarence Allen found peace at the age of 76 at the Veterans Home in Big Spring on May 31, 2020.
He was born in Ironwood, Michigan, on Sept. 23, 1944, and attended local schools. After high school he joined the U.S. Air Force, spending several years in Guam. While in the service he earned a degree in electronic technician.
After returning to his hometown in Ironwood, he worked for Johnson's Music store and Matton's TV and Appliance. He then moved to Montana and was the owner of Larry's TV and Appliance Repair.
Larry was a Master Gardner of vegetables and an excellent baker. He enjoyed selling his goods at farmers markets. Larry was featured in his local newspaper with pictures and articles showing his beautiful gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernice and Clarence Allen; sister, Donna Kay Allen; stepson, Edward Fleming; and stepgrandson, Wesley Coleman Jr.
Larry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; children, Wanda Allen of Montana, Larry Allen of Ironwood, and Derric (Jenny) Allen of North Carolina; stepchildren, Betsy (Wesley) Coleman of San Angelo, Texas, Susan Overton (Jim) and David Rojo, both of Big Spring, Mike Richards of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Buddy.

Larry's remains will be laid to rest in Texas and Ironwood. Military rites were held at the veterans nursing home in Big Spring.
