BESSEMER, Mich. — Paul Malmberg, a lifelong resident of Bessemer, passed away June 14, 2020, surrounded by his family. Over the past 11 months, Paul continued to live life to the fullest during his fight with pancreatic cancer.
Paul was born on Nov. 14, 1951, in Detroit. He graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer in 1969 and from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 1973.
Paul joined his father, Roy, in 1973 at General Insurance Agency in Bessemer. He worked until his passing. His son, Mark, joined him in 2016 and will continue managing the family business.
Paul is survived by his four children, Kady (Todd) Meinke of Bessemer, David Malmberg (Catherine Foster) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jennifer Malmberg (Mark Carlson) of Duluth, Minnesota, and Mark Malmberg (Amy Warrick) of Bessemer; three cherished granddaughters, Eliza, Natalie and Audrey Stone, all of Bessemer; his sister, Mary Kay (Michael) Smock of Negaunee and their family; and his special, constant companion, Susan Roberts of Bessemer.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Frances Malmberg.
Cremation has taken place, and per Paul’s wishes no service will be held.
