Donald J. 'Don' May

Donald J. "Don" May, age 83, walked on from this life Thursday, July 30, 2020. Don was born Valentines Day, Feb. 14, 1937 in Chicago, son of the late Frank and Carolyn (Miller) May.

Don and his wife, Patsy (Halverson) May, graduated together from Chetek (Wisconsin) High School in 1955. After serving the U.S. Air Force, Don and Patsy were married in 1960, the same year Don joined Wisconsin MVD. In 1966, Don went to work in the insurance industry as a field claim rep, later transferring to the field of safety.

Don and Patsy lived in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan since 1967. Don was fond of outdoor activity, having a long standing love affair with trout, and the environs they inhabited. Don related to the quadruped (domestic and wild) and was proud of the time spent with working sled dogs and draft horses.

He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Lynn (Dave) L'Huillier, of Shingleton, Michigan, and Donna Jo (Tim) LaBonte of Trout Creek, Michigan; also numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cheryl Harasha; brother, Frank May Jr .; and a nephew, Craig Harasha.

There will be no service at this time. Don and his family would wish that you hug your loved ones, both two legged and four legged, and if possible, to do random acts of kindness.
