AUSTIN, Texas - It is with heavy hearts, the Casanova family announces, their loving wife and mother, Helen Elizabeth Casanova, 77, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020 after a courageous fight.
Helen passed away peacefully, while her youngest daughter, Kindra held her hand in comfort, at her hospital bedside.
When leaving this world to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, she left it a better place.
Helen was born on July 12, 1943, the daughter of Helga Alexsandra Bowers. Helen graduated from Hurley High School, in Hurley, Wisconsin in 1961.
Helen married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Earl Casanova on May 26, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ironwood, Michigan.
Helen had many careers in her lifetime. All that knew her admired her dedication and work ethic. Helen retired in 2008 from a 28-year career with 3M, St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was an active member at Rose of Sharon Lutheran Church, Cottage Grove, Minnesota prior to her retirement in 2008.
During retirement, she moved to Austin, Texas to enjoy warm weather year round.
Helen and Dennis were married 58 years. They were blessed with four daughters, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Helen's pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her all the happiness this world could provide.
She also loved all things "butterflies," her favorite color was purple. Helen loved her dog Gucci, birthday cake, enjoyed decorating her home, shopping with her daughters, gardening, and landscaping.
Helen is survived by husband, Dennis Earl Casanova; daughters, Lorinda Marie Nelsen (Daniel), Denise Jo Casanova, Cassandra Joy Casanova and Kindra Leigh Casanova; grandchildren, Danielle J'Vonne Casanova, Amber Marie Rensink (Ryan), Brandon Daniel Nelsen (Kelsey) and Natalia Capri Canty Casanova; great-grandchildren, Apollo Christian Williams, Aliyancé Casanova Williams, Zoey Marie Rensink and Kylie Ann Nelsen; sisters, April Marie Ruppe (Joseph) and Bonnie Estelle Westrich; brother, Wallace Carl Bowers Jr; and many nieces, nephews, and several other relatives and close friends.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Helga Alexsandra Bowers; mother-in-law, Olga Ester Casanova; father-in-law, Frank Anthony Casanova; and brother, Gerald William Nelson.

A Christian service for immediate family will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ironwood, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to her husband, Dennis Casanova to be dedicated in her honor, to her childhood place of worship.
