EWEN, Mich. - George E. Wolfe, 83, of Ewen, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, at his home.
George was born July 14, 1937, on South Baltimore Road of Bruce Crossing, to James Edward and Ingrid Elizabeth (Korsman) Wolfe.
He married Viola Streeter on Oct. 18, 1958, in Ewen at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He received his GED while enlisted in the U.S. Army. He owned and operated a farm and worked at the White Pine Mine before buying and running Wolfe's V&S Variety until retirement.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, involved in church, civic organizations, bowling league, RV clubs, and was a member of the American Legion.
George is survived by his wife, Viola; two children, Thomas (Dawn Arbelius) Wolfe and Jeffrey Wolfe; seven brothers and sisters, Alfred (Ginger) Wolfe, Lorraine Chezik, Anita Goldberg, Bill (Gail) Wolfe, John (Val) Wolfe, Ann Aho, and Theresa (Tom) Wians; his grandchildren, Matthew and Benjamin Wolfe; great-granddaughter, Harley Smith-Wolfe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Ingrid Wolfe.
Visitation will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ewen. Funeral services will start at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ewen.
