Barbara R. Peterson

NEGAUNEE, Mich. - Barbara R. Peterson, 93, in the presence of her loving family, went to be with her Lord on Sept. 15, 2020, at Eastwood Nursing Home in Negaunee.

She was born May 12, 1927, daughter of John and Victoria (Pertile) Frello.

Barbara married Howard Peterson, and he preceded her in death in 1983.

She worked as an inspector for fishing poles at Kodiak Company.

Barbara loved to read and work puzzles, but her passion in life was her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook Italian food for her family. She will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and sense of humor. She was also a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Victoria Frello; husband, Howard; son, Gerald John Peterson in 1977; brother, Matthew Frello; and sisters, Jennie Ciesielczyk and Mary Jackovich.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Judy (Thomas) Rogers; grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Rogers, Jen (Brian) Turek, Alyssia (Kris) Mager, Chad Peterson, Nicole Elmahdy and Melissa (John) Konrad; great-grandchildren, Noah, Delaney and Naomi Rogers, Aaron, Alex and Anna Turek, Emanuel, Elijah, Malaki, Magdalyn and Jonah Mager, Serene Elmahdy and Ella and Owen Konrad; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Frick-Zielinski Funeral Home in Bessemer on Saturday, at 1 p.m. with Fr. Dominic Agyapong officiating, preceded by a visitation from noon until the time of the service.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
