LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Jeanette L. Fredrickson, 91, passed away peacefully Oct. 1, 2020, at the Mapleton Care Center in Lakewood, with family at her side.
She was born May 2, 1929, in Montreal, Wisconsin, to the late Arvid and Henna Lake. Jeanette resided in Ironwood, Michigan, all of her adult life until moving to Colorado in 2017 to be near family.
She attended Montreal and Hurley schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in Hurley in 1947. On June 4, 1949, she married Elmore J. Fredrickson. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 1990.
Jeanette was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Ironwood, where she was an active member of the Lutheran Church Women and sang in the church choir. For many years she chaired the funeral lunch committee at Zion. During her working years she was employed at Ironwood Hardware, Glendenning, Mrofchak's and Cohodas Paoli.
When her children were young, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and was active in Sleight School PTA functions. Jeanette was a member of Theatre North and Gogebic Range Players for many years and had roles in several of their productions. For eight years she was a member of the Comedy Shortz Improv group.
Jeanette is survived by her sons, John Fredrickson (Cheryl) of South Lyon, Michigan, and Daniel Fredrickson (Linda) of Hartland, Wisconsin; her daughter, Mary Jean Fredrickson (Gary LaBelle) of Edgewater, Colorado; two grandchildren, Dr. Abigail Fredrickson of Hartland, and Timothy (Caitlin) Fredrickson of Brooklyn, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter, Josie Fredrickson of Brooklyn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her sisters, Marie Giachino, Esther Paynter and Henna Mae Lindberg; and her brothers, Laurence Lake and Roy Lake.
A memorial service and celebration of life for Jeanette will be held in the summer of 2021. Jeanette's family requests that contributions in her memory be made to Zion Lutheran Church, 100 W.
