Serving Gogebic, Iron and Ontonagon Counties
IRONWOOD – The Ironwood campus of Gogebic Community College switched to a virtual learning platform on Monday, in an effort to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, according to a press release.
“While challenging, we are still able to maintain our primary mission,” said Dr. George McNulty, president of GCC in the press release. “We continue to work closely with the health department to do what we can to mitigate spread.”
Classes will remain virtual until Nov. 9, with the exception of several lab courses, the release said.
Faculty will be reaching out to all students, said the release, adding any student requiring assistance and-or equipment is encouraged to contact the college.
Internet access is still available to students from any of the college parking lots. Campus offices will remain open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Classes and services at the Copper Country campus in Houghton, will continue as scheduled.
The college also announced today’s Board of Trustees budget hearing and regular board meeting at 4:30 p.m. will be held via Zoom.
