BESSEMER, Mich. - Anita Joy (Hauta) Milewski, of Bessemer, passed away quietly with loving family at her side, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota, on Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at the age of 86.
Anita was born on Nov. 9, 1933, to Verner and Elmi (Betty) Hauta in Bessemer Township. She graduated from A.D. Johnston High School in Bessemer in 1951. She worked in the Chicago area before returning to Bessemer, and was united in marriage to Raymond Stanley Milewski on June 25, 1955, at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Bessemer. Their union brought forth two children, a son, Raymond Stephen and a daughter, Renee Lynne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Pearce and Josie Graham; and a step-grandson, Joseph Loveless.
She is survived by her son, Raymond Stephen Milewski, of Butternut, Wisconsin; her daughter and son-in-law, Renee Lynne (Brian) Loveless, of Superior, Wisconsin; a step-granddaughter, Bethany (Grant) Loveless/Jackson, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Jackie Milewski, of Ironwood; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and her little dog, Scooter.
For many years Anita enjoyed spending time at her cabin fishing and boating with her family and friends. She liked to travel, class reunions, and visiting with her good lifelong childhood friends, Joanne Taylor, of Denver, Colorado, and Valaria Mizerk, of Chicago, as well as her many other good friends and neighbors.
The family will be honoring her life in a private service.
Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bessemer.
