WATERSMEET, Mich. - Retired Gogebic County Deputy Sheriff Frank Louis Kichak, 69, of Watersmeet, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020.
He was born on March 23, 1951, in Ironwood, a son of Frank Edward and Jean Lucille (Kostelny) Kichak. On Oct. 4, 1974, Frank received an electronics technician diploma from the United Electronics Institute in Grand Rapids.
He proudly served his county in the U.S. Army, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant on Jan. 19, 1983.
Frank leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Judy; a son, Josh (Julie); his siblings, Carol and Darrell Swearingen, Kathy LeClaire, Chuck and Colleen Kichak, Joe and Betty Kichak, Bob and Bonnie Kichak and Nancy Currier; numerous nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and Judy's brothers and sisters and their families.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in celebration of Frank's life. Military rites will be accorded by the Wakefield American Legion Geroux Post 11 and Wakefield Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9084 Honor Guard.
