Robert J. Toth

HURLEY, Wis. - Robert J. Toth, 72, of Ironwood, Michigan, passed away on Nov. 1, 2020, at Sky View Nursing Center in Hurley.

He was born on May 4, 1948, in Ironwood, son of George and Anna Mae (Kurta) Toth. He attended local schools, graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood in 1966, and also attended college for one year. He joined the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam Era.

Robert was married to Debbie Herlevi on Dec. 6, 1972, and she preceded him in death. On Sept. 12, 1992, he married Suzanne Pokela, and she survives.

He was employed as an electrician at the White Pine Copper Mine. He was also employed as an electrical salesman for Allphase and Northern Electric and also sold diesel engines for John Deere.

Robert was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Ironwood.

He was a master gardener and enjoyed fishing. He was a cancer survivor and was a supporter of the Relay For Life and other cancer support groups.

He was preceded in death by his father, George Toth; and his first wife, Debbie.

Robert is survived by his wife, Suzanne; daughter, Stephanie (Patrick) Moore; grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Tyler Kitzman and Jesse (Emily) Moore; great-grandchild, Kiley Eliason; mother, Anna Mae;  brothers, Joseph, Michael and James (Tammy) Toth; sister, Kathleen Such; several loving nieces and nephews; and his Scottish Fold cat, Connery.

A memorial service will be held at a later date due to COVID-19.
