IRONWOOD, Mich. - Nancy Ruth Prosek, 80, of Ironwood, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, in Wakefield.
Nancy was born March 28, 1940, in Ironwood, daughter of the late George and Doris (Gehrman) Prosek. She attended and graduated from Luther L. Wright High School in Ironwood.
Nancy moved to Milwaukee and worked for Wisconsin Electric Power Company for 11 years. She then returned to Ironwood working at First of America Bank/National City Bank, and retired in May 2003.
Nancy was a lifetime member of St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hurley, Wisconsin. She was a longtime Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of the Ladies Aid.
Nancy enjoyed bowling, gardening and going out to lunch with her friends. She was an avid pet lover and gave her love to many schnauzers throughout her life.
Survivors include her two nieces, Christine Hoff (James) and Leah Schwieters (Paul); along with her great-nieces and great-nephews. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, JoAnn Prosek.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, on Dec. 8, 2002; as well as many other beloved family members.
A funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 11, at 11 a.m., at St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hurley, with Pastor Timothy Johnson officiating.
The family will receive family and close friends at the church on Friday beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood.
