GREEN BAY, Wis. - Bernadette Rose "Bernie" DeKatch, 73, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020. She was born Aug. 11, 1947, to Paul and Ellen (Lazaran) DeKatch in Uniontown, Pennsylvania.
After the untimely death of her mother, the family moved to California before settling in the Hurley-Ironwood area. Bernie graduated from Hurley High School. At the age of 26, Bernie moved to Green Bay to take a job at Pauly's Cheese.
She is survived by special friends who were her family, Kathleen (Dale) Choronzy and Karen (Jamie Desotell) Maccaux .; cousins, including John (Linda) Martinelli; and an aunt, Dorothy Lazaran.
In addition to her mother, Ellen DeKatch, she was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Paul and Margie DeKatch; a brother, Paul DeKatch; aunts, uncles and special friends, Viola Maki and Laila (Robert) Vandenbush.
There will be a memorial gathering from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 19, at Proko-Wall Funeral Home at 1630 E. Mason St. in Green Bay. A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home. Interment of her urn will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Green Bay.
