ASHLAND, Wis. - Kenneth C. Glickert, 71, of Hurley, went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at Court Manor in Ashland.
Ken was born the son of George Sr. and Wilma (Creasey) Glicket on May 16, 1949, in North Bend, Oregon. He was united in marriage with the love of his life, Ruth Lyons on Oct. 28, 1978, in Mapleton, Oregon. While in Oregon, Ken worked for Murphy's Veneer. After moving from Oregon in 1985, he was a dishwasher at Big Boy in Ironwood, and then 15 years at Bessemer Plywood, and most recently at Highline and local ski hills.
Kenneth was a member of Havenwood Baptist Church in Hurley. He was a backyard mechanic and loved to work on cars. Ken enjoyed camping, fishing, taking photography, artwork, playing chess, watching wrestling and was a black belt in karate.
He will be missed by his wife, Ruth; daughter, Lucille Glickert of Hurley; four brothers, George Jr. (Penney), Doug (Marie), Mark (Charlene), and Anthony; and two sisters, Kathy (Ernie) Miller and Caroline (Chuck) Davis.
Ken was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father and mother; and his mother-in-law, Marion Lyons.
A memorial service for Ken will take place at Havenwood Baptist Church in Hurley on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Matthew Minier officiating. Inurnment will take place in the spring.
