TOMAHAWK, Wis. - Jean A. DeCarlo, 79, of 1615 E. Somo Ave., Tomahawk, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at her home.
Jean was born June 27, 1941, in Ironwood, Michigan, to James and Rose (DeDiana) Gerry. She grew up in the Hurley area and married Charles M. DeCarlo on May 23, 1964, in Eau Claire.
Chuck and Jean spent 31 years in the Wausau area. She spent many years as a teacher's aid at John Muir Middle School. Following retirement they spent 18 years in the Manitowish Waters area, before moving to the Tomahawk area in 2013.
Jean was a voracious reader she loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving Jean DeCarlo is her husband, Chuck; three children, Nicole (Chris) Miller of Tomahawk, Paul (Asagay) DeCarlo of Andover, Minnesota, and Steve (Kathy) DeCarlo of Freedom, Wisconsin. She is further survived by a sister, Bernadine Blise of Hurley; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sandra Saari.
In accordance with Jean's wishes, her life will be celebrated privately.
