BESSEMER, Mich. - Helen R. (Reising) Grebner, "Aunt Honey," 81, of Bessemer, formerly of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021.
Helen was born on June 21, 1939, in Peoria, a daughter of Joanna A. (Kovachevich) and Edward J. Reising Sr.
On Nov. 16, 1963, she married Bernard J. Grebner at St. Mark Catholic Church in Peoria.
Helen is survived by a son, Todd A. (Sue Bolton), Bessemer; a brother, William (Patti), of Michigan; a sister, Catherine Reising-Jones (Jeffrey), of Maine. Helen was blessed with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bernard, on March 10, 1990; three brothers, Edward J. (Charli), James J. (Katie) and Paul D. (Josephine); and two sisters, Ursula C. Reising and Mary M. Reising Toevs (Loren).
Helen was a very religious, compassionate person, whose interests ranged from cooking, gardening, crocheting and floral arrangements.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation at 10:30 a.m., at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 210 E. Iron St., in Bessemer.
A second funeral Mass will be held in Peoria later in September.
Rite of Committal and interment will take place at the Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, joining her husband and soulmate, Bernie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
