IRONWOOD, Mich. - Michael Paul Evsich, 61, of Ironwood passed away on Feb. 11, 2021, following a long courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side.
He was born in Escanaba on Feb. 3, 1960. He had two sets of adoptive parents, Aldo and Violet Lassio and Frank and Louise Evsich, who loved him dearly. Michael attended Bessemer area schools. After getting his GED, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He was also employed by Halvorline's.
Michael was united in marriage to Susan Lee Lehto on Sept. 24, 2016. His hobbies included fixing small engines and spending time with his family. He was an avid Denver Broncos fan.
Michael is survived by his wife, Susan; his sons, Luke and Michael; daughters, Alysa and Isabella; stepchildren, Amanda (Marc) Lane, John (Kelsie) Fehl, Laurie (Jason) Winger, Daunte Bolton, Karrera Bolton and Ana Younker-Zimmerman; grandchildren, Preston, Nolan and Macie; brothers, David and Bob; sisters, Susan (Scott), Sara (Chad) and Diane; aunt, Betty; uncles, Jim and George; his in-laws; William Lehto, Maryann Swanson and Toni and David Thorstad; best friends, Miles Donkers, Patrick Moselle, Krystal Robb, and his ex-wife, Elizabeth Koponen-Zimmerman. Michael is further survived by many family and friends.
He was preceded in death by both sets of adoptive parents, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held later this summer.
